GENERAL BIOGRAPHYSteve Harrington was born in 1966 to Mr. and Mrs. Harrington in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana. His father owned an unknown business and the family was relatively wealthy, lived in a large house with a backyard swimming pool (near the woods and the Hawkins Lab). Mr. Harrington had a poor relationship with his son (Steve refers to him as a "grade A asshole") and without any siblings around and his parents often travelling out of state, the boy often found himself seeking the company of others. Steve began attending Hawkins High School around 1981, eventually befriending Tommy Hagan and Carol Perkins who he hung out with most of the time. His growing popularity landed him many girlfriends and quite some recognition from his peers which he later on realized meant nothing.Self-centered with a thirst for attention, Steve has held up to his jock title up until he began dating Nancy Wheeler; someone whom he had fallen in love with and still states to be his first real love up to this day: the same person who helped him realize that his high school persona wasn’t worth being a jerk for if he could instead develop meaningful relationships with those who actually gave a damn about him.When Nancy's best friend, Barbara Holland, suddenly disappeared, she became distant and Steve thought she was cheating on him with the school outcast, Jonathan Byers (someone whom he had been on bad terms with at the time, picking on the poor teen with the encouragement of his peers). Following a few ignorant actions (which he still regrets to this day), Steve had a change of heart, told his friends off, and set out to make things right. By coincidence, and with some hesitation, he ended up heroically saving the day (fighting the Demogorgon) and a few months later even reconciled with his girlfriend (or so he thought at the time).

During a night in late autumn, the brunette was on his way home when a thick fog made it impossible for him to drive any further. Hearing the ominous whispers of the dark, Steve considered turning back at first, though the distant cries for help- cries of people he knew and cared for drew him into the depths of the unknown. Agitated, the young man pursued the source of the noise with little to no regard for his own well-being, ignoring all the alarming signs that could’ve saved him from the Entity’s call.SCREAM
